Adult Ministry

Welcome to our Adult Ministry Section. Following are some of the different ministries active at OAC.

Small Groups

Our small Groups exists to empower the people of Oliver Alliance Church (OAC) to build community and foster spiritual growth. Through Christ, God loves us just as we are. But He loves us too much to leave us where we are. We were never meant to take this life journey alone. Find a small group, or start your own, and begin growing in your relationship with God and His church. Small Groups are groups of people who meet together on a regular basis. They are drawn together by common interests, a specific topic or activity or a particular demographic. Whether you are reading through a Bible study together, serving with one another in the community, or sharing a common interest, our Small Groups are places where lives are changed.

Contact the church office or our lead pastor to get connected to a group.

Prime Time: Prime Time Fellowship

Those in the 60+ age group are invited to participate in this fellowship as we pursue ways in which we can help fulfill the five-fold purpose of the church. The Leadership Team seeks to do that by planning such things as:

  • Weekly ‘coffee times’ from Sept. to May
  • Games Nights, bus trips and outings
  • Small Groups of 6 to 12 people for mutual growth and encouragement
  • Adult Sunday school Class
  • Annual Christmas banquet

We encourage Prime Timers to serve as teachers, Small Group leaders, leaders of ‘church services’ in local nursing homes, workers at OK Gleaners or the Food Bank, prayer warriors and in other ministries at our church.

Check the Events link for up to date information on what’s happening.

This group seeks to build an inter generational community of women by hosting special events to stimulate spiritual growth and relationships with those that attend OAC as well as those not currently involved with the church.

Check out the Events link for the next planned event.

Adult Sunday School

Between September and June, one or more adult Sunday school classes are offered before the service. Our goal is to provide meaningful, biblical study to promote spiritual growth and understanding for our adults. Currently two different classes are running from Sunday mornings from 9:30 – 10:15 a.m. Drop ins are welcome at the classes.

We welcome all ages and have a wide variety of materials available on loan.

  • We have over 2000 books – everything from Christian living, biographies, men and women categories, fiction, youth and children books – all inspired to help us grow in our faith and experience the wonder of transformation. There are also magazines available.
  • We have almost 1000 audio choices – from tapes to CDs to DVDs and VHS – we have sermons, music, family movies, teaching, creation science and children’s selections.
  • Our materials are indexed on computer and can be accessed by title or author.
  • Donations are welcome but will be examined by the librarian to avoid duplicates, unsuitable or out of date materials.

Library Hours

Sunday – 15 minutes before the start of the service and 15 minutes after the end of the service.

We have a 2 week loan period and 4 librarian teams rotating to serve your needs.
